Woolley Trail Runs
Saturday February 20th 2010, 7am
- The Woolley 50k 31.1 miles 50K Distance
- The Woolley Marathon 26.2 miles Marathon Distance
- The Woolley ½ Marathon 13.1miles ½ Marathon Distance
These are all fun runs starting from Township & Polte Rd, Sedro-Woolley, WA. All three runs are out and back with a few road crossings. Participants will heed traffic while crossing all roads, there will be NO crossing guards. As with all NW Ultra events these are meant to be fun runs with limited aid. Any diversion from the trail will be marked as well as all turnaround points.
Participants in the Marathon that expect to finish in 4.5 hours or longer may start at 6am.
Participants in the 50k that expect to finish in over 6 hours or longer may start at 6am.
Participants taking an early start will not be eligible for awards.

Rules of the event
This is not a race and is not sanctioned by any governing body. The course will open at 7:00 am and close at 2:00 pm.
NW Ultras requires a $5 annual fee to participate in their runs. This will be paid at the 1st NW Ultra event ran in each calendar year.

Fees
$20 entry fee used to pay for supplies and fun run costs. All surplus money will be donated to the Tommy Thompson trestle repair project.
Course Description
All three courses are out and back on railroad grade gravel path. The course has a slight (unnoticeable) uphill grade on the way out, with of course the same downhill grade on the return.
Aid Stations
There will be an aid station at each of the turnaround points.

If we can find enough volunteers we will add aid stations at mile 4, and mile 10. Plan on carrying water and aid in case we don’t secure enough volunteers.
Driving
- Interstate 5 (I-5)
- Take exit #232/Cook Rd towards Sedro-Woolley drive east on Cook Rd, 4.3 mi (Great carpool location)
- Turn left on North Cascades Hwy, 1.1 mi
- Turn right on Township St, 0.2 mi
- Turn left on Polte Rd, 0.2 mi
- Park at the Central United Methodist Church 1013 Polte Rd, Sedro Wooley, WA just across the street from the trail head
Weather
Sedro-Woolley tends to be a bit wet in February, and this trail is very close to the Skagit River. There is a possibility that portions of the trail will be flooded if the water table is high. Be prepared for any type of weather, and hopefully it will be sunny and dry!
