RACE IS LIMITED TO FIRST (50) PAID ENTRANTS FOR 2009. Plus you need to join www.nwultras.com running club for insurance ($5) per year. This will cover insurance for all races. No DOR entries for 2009.

The Birch Bay Marathon and 15.1 mile option will start at 9:00am and finish at 2:00pm on Saturday December 10th 2009 from Birch Bay State Park. The weather should be terrible so please plan accordingly! Beware of ice on the roads and drive carefully.

An 8:00 start is available for those who plan on taking 5 or more hours. It does cause us aid issues so plan on carrying your own until mobile aid finds you on the loop.

The entry fee of $20.00 will be used to pay for supplies and race costs. All surplus money at year end will be donated to charity.

Aid Stations
There will be one fixed and one roving aid station. The start finish line will be abandoned until the leader of the 15.1 mile option heads back. There is a major intersection at Harborview / Birch Bay Dr you pass twice before heading home.

Birch Bay Lodging
There are 15 motels within 6 miles with the Inn at Semi Ah Moo the most expensive and the Driftwood Inn Resort Motel only a mile away. The State Park allows camping for an overnight fee. Also look at Blaine and Ferndale for lower cost local options. Note: the state parks do not charge a parking fee anymore.
